Whatcha Studying? February 2023, Half One

Cozy winter still life: cup of hot coffee and book with warm plaid on windowsill against snow landscape from outside.Hey all, it’s February! Whatcha studying?

Tara: I completed the duology from Lee Winter that I used to be studying final time. The Fixer was nice, however Chaos Agent… ( A | BN | Ok ) I can’t cease interested by it. Collectively, they make for a contemplative, thought-provoking interrogation of whether or not a villain might be actually redeemed, in addition to a wonderful romance.

Claudia: This sounds wonderful! Sadly I’m not very enthused by the stuff I’m studying proper now, hoping one thing good will come alongside quickly!

Elyse: I simply completed [Redacted due to HarperCollins Union strike], which is a good character-focused, twisty thriller. I simply began The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz ( A | BN | Ok ) so clearly I’m in a mystery-mood

Shana: I’m studying A Reminiscence Known as Empire by Arkady Martine. Political intrigue in area! I’m right here for it.

Sarah: Adam actually loved that e book and the sequel.

Shana: Oooh! [squeals in sequel] I’m excited to know that there’s a second e book. I’ve learn just a few novels recently with principal characters who really feel incompetent so I’m having fun with having a 26 yr previous heroine who is wise and flawed.

Susan: I simply completed Yellow Jessamine, a novella by Caitlin Starling. One of the best ways I can describe it’s that it’s a kind of tales that begins off claustrophobic and simply retains collapsing inwards on the protagonist from there. I can’t inform if that’s as a result of “darkish, remoted, obsessive f/f” is Caitlin Starling’s wheelhouse, or if I’m simply self-selecting in her works as a result of it’s my wheelhouse

What are you studying this month? Inform us beneath!
